Afternoon all!
Phalon- I live in Arizona so most of the time you have to eat ice cream pretty fast, but lately the weather hasn't been too bad. Low 90's yesterday with a light breeze. Was the first time in months I havn't wanted to live in my freezer. Thanks for the bagels by the way!
Hey Xengab, I'll take a chocolate milk thanks!
Hope everyone has a good day.

I've got fam in AZ. Around the Phoenix area. I like it there quite a bit. Nice to visit anyway. Pretty polluted but it feels very different than where I live so it's an interestng change of pace when we're out there.

I'm glad someone likes it here. Excuse the sarcasm, I'm just getting tired of the heat and the dirt. I was born in Indiana so I really miss the trees and the water.

The weather hasn't been too bad?!! In the low 90's with a light breeze! Just goes to show how everything is relative. For weeks we've been in the high sixties to low seventies. Then nearly a week in the 80's and wham - feels like we've hit a brick wall of hot air. We're all very sluggish at work, not being used to working in the heat all summer.
Most summers our average temps. are in the eighties, and we feel like we are melting only when it gets in the nineties. Funny how your body adjusts to its environment.
I've been to AZ only once, years ago. The Phoenix area, (Camelback, actually, I think). Very pretty, but so different. I'm only a hop, skip and a jump from Indiana so I know the trees and water that you miss. Don't forget the snow, ice, tornadoes, and mosquitos.

Yeah...........My mom says the same thing. "You'll get tired of the ice, snow, humidity, bugs, etc....." But I can't help being frustrated at the fact that we only have two seasons. "Hot" and "Yay, we can finally wear pants!". Pheonix is worse because of all the concrete. Oh well...........I guess it's all about what you are used to. I'd probably sweat to death in all the humidity. Anyway......can I buy any one some Ice tea?

Raspberry iced tea for me please Scrappy... Boy has it ever been hot here in the south of the UK. I was at Burghley Horse Trials on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and it was amazingly hot! Of course I was very careful and came back with a nice sun tan instead of like a lobster...but there were a few people who looked like they wouldn't be walking anywhere fast for the next week! It was a fantastic event, got to see the British Olympic Team just back from Athens, but tragically there was a fatality on the cross country course on Saturday which shook everyone. An experienced British eventer named Caroline Pratt was crushed when her horse fell badly at the water jump and came down on top of her...much sympathy to her friends and family How is everyone? We're having a fairly quiet week at the theatre, I've been doing lots of mundane things like painting the dressing rooms. The good news is that I've just been asked to be the Assistant Stage Manager for our pantomime this year which is a great opportunity for me and will be a real asset on my resume...hurrah for me hope everyone else is having a good week... lotsa love dixie

Congratulations on the Assistant Stage manager opportunity, Dixie. Good for you!
Our weather has changed again...much cooler than the last few days...sigh...I like the cooler weather much better than the heat, but wish it would stop flip-flopping around.
Perfect September weather - described in a book I just started reading. A british novel written in the 50s, called Old Herbaceous. The first paragraph goes...
It was one of those mild autumn mornings when early mist had turned to soft rain and water dripped from everything. No real touch of winter yet; just a soft pause between the seasons, giving you the best of both. Not too warm, as it had been; not too cold, as it would be..."
I dunno...to me that sounds wonderful.
Enjoy your Wednesdays.

Happy Wednesday all! *sips raspberry iced tea* mmm, thanks Scrappy... Busy, busy, busy in the world of dixie today...we have our pantomime launch party this afternoon...all the actors come in and meet the staff and we talk to the press and they unveil what the set is going to look like. Its all very smart but there's a lot to do before this afternoon... Its definitely fall here now, I saw leaves falling this morning and sunrise is getting later and later, usually when I swim before work the sun is coming up and shining through the pool windows (the whole building is made of glass and the sunlight shines off the water, its nice) but today it was only just getting warm on my way to work. have a good day y'all dixie

Hey Eirene........where exactly is Niedersachsen? Niedersachsen is one of 16 federal countries in Germany. The west border is to netherland the north to Hamburg, the eastborder to Harz ( thats a mountain ). I live in Oldenburg, thats only 1-2 hours far away from netherland. Before the i lived in Mecklenburg / Vorpommern, there are the borders danmark, poland, russian ( it´s on the baltic sea ) . I hope, i can help you with this. Do you know this situations, where really everything goes wrong?! At the moment i got such a time. All is broken by me...first that, then that and now this... Eirene

Is this pool at your home, Dixie? I've always wanted a pool enclosed in a glass room, with huge sliding glass doors I could open in the summer. Maybe someday if I win the lotto. Hot chocolate sounds good, xengab, thanks! Rick, care to join us? Eirene I hope it's just one of those days that will come and go, and not something major like getting into a car accident or burning your house down.

Hello Rsine. Don't think that I've ever seen you here before. Glad you stopped in.
Eirene, yep, I've experienced those kinds of days. I am "Murphy's Law's" most well abiding citizen. Hope things brighten up soon. Chin up.
Hello to Dixie, (hope your busy day went well); Xengab, (thanks for the hot chocolate. How's the hubs?); Scrappy, (got any of those fab cookies of yours to go with my hot chocolate?); Gig, (hope you had some time today to enjoy the gorgeous weather); and whoever else stops in.
Today here, was beautiful as well. I so love autumn, (sorry, I'm sure I've said that a multitude of times here in the last couple of weeks. I'm sure you'll hear it again many more, so I apoligize in advance for sounding repetitive).
It was my day off work. After Baby Phalon and I walked Little Xena to school, we headed off downtown to run errands. Stopped at the library, gabbed a bit with one of my friends who has a shop downtown, stopped at the cafe and bought a fabulous loaf of herbed bread, then strolled down to the marina to feed the ducks, (not with the herbed bread, but just the regular white stuff we'd brought from home). It's kinda of amazing - no ducks in sight, then throw just one little bit into the channel and wham! About fifty ducks appear out of nowhere. It always baffles me as to where the heck they come from.
After we walked back home, we ate our lunch out on our picnic table. Wasted over half the day, doing nothing, (at least nothing I needed to get done), but damn, it felt soooo good.
I figured I get the other stuff done this evening. Spent that, though, chatting on the deck at friends' house.
Sometimes it's great just to blow an entire day. Especially when it's as nice outside as today was.

Hi all.............really beat tonight. But I just happen to have some Chocolate cookies with white chocolate chunks for Phalon, or anyone else that happens to mosey by. Phalon...........time is never wasted when spent in the company of family and friends. I havn't had a day like that in a while. You have inspired me! Think I'll take my mom to a movie. Thank you.
Eirene......keep your chin up like Phalon says.........things will work out.
Have a good night all!

I have yet to meet another Xena fan in my hometown, so imagine my delight at finding all of you on the Web. Now I can laugh at my friends who tell me I'm the only one who watches the show.
BTW, how many gigabytes of Xena must you have on your pc before qualifying as an obsessive? ;D

Morning/evening everyone (not sure what time it is for most of you, but I guess you are all in bed!) I think I'll just grab myself a jug of coffee and get some milk for the cat Eirene - hope you are feeling better today. Are you in Germany? If so, I hope you are getting some of the gorgeous sun we are having in the Netherlands (right in my eye as I write, so I have to squint to see what I am doing!) Guru - I know what you mean about this site opening up the world of Xena. Most of my friends laugh at my obsessions (Xena, Tim Henman, Buffy), assuming that no-one in their right mind would share them. Still, I see them peeking over their newspapers when I'm watching my DVDs, and I even arranged a girly Xena night the other week, which went down very well with pizza and some wine Anyway, I hope you all have wonderful days. Mine will mostly be sitting around working at home, so I'll probably catch some of you later. Byeeeee xx

Phalon, I actually did have time to enjoy the weather since it was my day off, but I didn't take the time to go outside. Oh well, maybe next week when I have the whole week off. Welcome aboard, guru! "Bad luck is a small pause between times of contentment." Sounds like good advice. I always say that when I'm having extremely bad luck, then great luck is just around the corner, because things always tend to even out for me. Hi to everyone else!

I'll join you for a quick coffee, Eirene. Know what you mean about apparatus and the cost of electricians. In the past month I've had my computer hard drive die on me, the colour and then the sound disappear from my DVD player, and I currently have no TV because it stopped turning itself on last Friday. Loads of money gone, and not even a chance of watching comfort movies/DVDs/TV At least we have the sun...maybe I should just take the day off and head to the beach
