Did I break the machine? I don't think so.....I'm bad but not that bad and I like Barbra. Thank you very much.

Barbara is okay. I like Barbara. I like Barbara singing Barbara much better than someone trying to sound like Barbara attempting to sing Barbara.
Just kidding. I'm sure you do a fine rendition. Here, have another drink.

I'm sure Barbra would be appalled at my rendition. I will admit..... Are you trying to get me drunk?

Sorry to leave you with that line of drinks in front of you last night, Scrappy. I trust your head didn't hurt too badly this morning?
Sigh....Coffee for me tonight. Black. Strong. And lots of it. Just popping in to take a brief break from writing notes for a talk I have to give for a seminar our nursery is giving on Saturday. Why do I always wait until the last minute? Why do I let myself get talked into stuff like this. Geeze, I hate talking in front of people. What the heck was I thinking when I agreed to do this?
<gulp> Another mug please, before I get back to the grindstone.

Good morning and Happy Friday!
Phalon, I am sure you have several hours of work under your belt by now, but I will have some stroooooong coffee here waiting for your return this evening. I bet you will be up late tonight readying for your class tomorrow.
Scrappy, please have a cup yourself and try to sober up.
School starts Monday and this weekend is a tax free weekend. Wow, I can't wait to get out there with all the other crazy back to school shoppers. There is an outlet mall about 5 minutes from where I work that is so big that people come from all over. I know there was a study done and just a couple of months ago this mall was named the "#1 tourist attraction" in NC. It even beat out the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sad, isn't it? Of course I could always avoid the hassle and go to one of many other malls, but why?
It has been in the high 90's the past couple of days, but today is suppose to be a real "Fall" like day. Low 80's. It is practically cold out there. Better bundle up the kiddies!
Phalon, fixate on one person and imagine them naked and you should have no problem with your public speaking.
Hope you all have a safe and happy weekend.

Someone remind me to never come in here when Phalon is passing out drinks.........

Sigh....thanks for the coffee, Eroc. I've had a few cups. Finally got all the notes typed - Sheesh, I ended up with too much info and had to cut it back. My talk, (I timed it), lasted just over a half hour, which is just about perfect. Let's hope I can stand for that long without keeling over from stage fright.
Here, let me practice for you all. Take a seat, get comfy, and try to look entertained, (at least don't snore too loudly).
Wish me luck. Here goes......
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.....

Gig, thanks for the kind words. Well, I survived. An empty stomach, a few cups of coffee, and a bundle of nerves - not a fine mix to start things off. Then there was the gang of bikers that roared by, (the seminar was held outside in the garden area). The roaring engines made me lose my train of thought, but at least they drown out the gurgles in my stomach. After that, I calmed down and things went really well. Even got some laughs at the parts that I intended there to be laughter. Next time the boss asks me to speak though, slap me upside the head when I start to say, "Sure. Sounds like fun." Okay? Promise.
Hiya Xie....care to join me for a glass of some of the sparkly stuff Xengab was so kind to leave?

Hubby's watching some car races while I read this, so I'm hearing the roaring of the engines as I read about the motorcycles. I figured that would happen. I bet it gave you more confidence for the rest of your speech, too. I don't think you should it down if you get asked to make another speech in the future. Any kind of performance in front of people can make a person feel better about themself when it goes well (it sounds like it did go well), and performances get even better with practice.

Hi xengab! I'm doing well, thanks. Been working on a website for a new client and creating a couple of searchable databases for it, so I've been pretty busy, but busy in a good way. I think a chocolate shake sounds pretty good. Thanks!

Gig, glad to hear you're busy in a good way. Good luck.
Hello to you, Xengab.
Busy in town this week for Blueberry Fest. Which reminds me - the other day, I stopped at a berry farm that has a little shop full of homemade baked goods. OMG. I tried the most amazing thing - White Chocolate Blueberry Cream Pie. Unbelievable. I brought one here for whoever cares to partake - and doesn't mind the 500 calories that I'm sure one piece packs.
Enjoy.

That pie sounds good, Phalon. I think I'll try a piece, thanks. Thanks for the good luck wishes. The site doesn't look very fancy on the surface, in my opinion, but the search feature is something I'm really proud of. I couldn't find anything pre-written that suited my needs, so I spent several hours over the last week looking for all the right commands and figuring out how to put it all together to do specifically what I want it to do. Each home listed on the site will also have its own virtual tour, with pictures of different rooms and anything else that would be of interest to potential buyers, like a pool or a lake view. I have it set up so that each tour is customizable, instead of having to fit everything into an exact template like all the pre-written codes out there force webmasters to do. After all, not all homes have the same number of rooms, and I want to be able to show any extras. Thanks for the chocolate shake, xengab, and for the compliment. I wouldn't know so much, though, if I didn't spend virtually every possible moment immersed in online tutorials. Welcome back, Eirene! Has it been 3 weeks already? I'm glad you had such a great time!

Welcome back, Eirene. Cheers.
Same type of weather here, Xengab. Quite flip-floppy actually. Chilly, then nice for a few days, then hot, now cold and rainy again - tomorrow's high is only supposed to be around 60 degrees. In August! What happened to those dog days?
Me, Scrappy? Lace your pie?
<slips the flask of Jack into her big Mom purse>
No, never.
Btw, Eroc? Tell me about that tax-free weekend. I've never heard of such a thing. Wow, images of shopping frenzies in my head.
Night all. Enjoy your day tomorrow. My day off - whoo-hoo.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all having a good week so far. It's Hump Day and the week is 1/2 over.
Eirene, I am glad you had a nice holiday and fun with the kids. Welcome back.
Phalon, various states participate in a tax free weekend which is a pre-determined weekend right before school starts where anything that can conceivably be used for school is tax free, i.e. clothes, shoes, bookbags, school supplies, computers, etc.
Most retailers have tremendous sales on everything. It is the second largest shopping weekend, second to Christmas.
Remember that YooHoo I expressed to you? How about you return the favor and send me a "real" piece of that pie. Sounds yummy.
Have a good day!

Wow, Eroc. I'm wondering how creative people can get with this. The brand new SUV? Ah, yes, I am carpool Mom, driving kids to and from school, sporting events, band practice and such. Wow, invite me down next year. I wonder what kind of trade-in I can get for the Burban. Wonder how many pieces I'll lose on the drive down.
A heavenly piece of Blueberry White Chocolate Cream Pie for a nasty ole can of Yoo-Hoo. Do you think this is a fair trade? I'll do it anyway, cuz I like ya. (Bucking here for the tax-free weekend invite).

Hey Eroc, I'd be careful of that pie Phalon is offering. You never know what else is in it besides Blueberries.

World domination through Blueberry pie! Of course. She'd probably do a better job than GW Dorkboy. I'd vote for her. But I still wouldn't trust those pies.
