Evergreen, it was indeed worth staying around that extra time for - doubly so, in fact, because I hadn't noticed that Zena had posted also. A nice bedtime story from the two of you. Thanks.

You know Sumire, you should have just taken the horse that we brought ourselves in on. He'd have been much calmer and nicer to you. Oh well. This should be entertaining.

Has it really only been two years? It seems like much longer to me...and I mean that in a good way. It's comfortable here...like visiting with old friends you've known for years and years., .
Enjoy your weekend.

Phalon, Thank you for the kind words on the post. Like you, it seems a longer time that we have been writing, but even over two years is exceptional. It is so much a part of what I do, I cannot imagine the Scrolls being here and again thank Whoosh for the "home" and privilege to write in this forum.
It’s a beautiful day in my neighborhood today. Christmas lights will get finished and I will rake a few leaves but allow the others to recycle.
Hope all your holiday preparations are going well for each of you.
Zena...now that you are such a horse whisperer you have NO excuse for not making the next step to country life and go swimming in a stock tank with me someday. ;D EG

Gak! No stock tank buddy..it's full of gleet! (look it up folks) And as for my real recent horseriding, as you know it was just on a gentle ride. I'm not ready for your circus lady act yet!!!!!

I googled "stock tank" but found nothing about "gleet" being in them. Have you never been swimming in a pond or lake? It pretty much is the same thing to my mind. I prefer a swimming pool, but a pond/lake is okay if that's all there is around.

Glad to see you writing again in the Scrolls, Joxie. A great post.
A song just popped into my head...
'Oh where, oh where, has that Little Dog gone? Oh where, oh where, can he be?'

Glad to see you writing again in the Scrolls, Joxie.
Well... not writing wasn't helping my writer's block, so I thought I'd just try to work through it. I think I may be trying too hard... you know... wanting to write "the great american novel", instead of just relaxing and letting it flow freely.
Thank ya...
I completely forgot all about "little dog"! He isn't even registered yet!

!!! AHA! I can finally sleep at night now that I have solved the mystery of 'little dog'! I feel like such a jeenyus. No, really. But for really tho: I concur with Phalon. (I've always wanted to use the word 'concur' in a sentence.) Very good to see you posting.

Hello, hello. A just in case note here...
I'm thinking it's probably a good thing Phalon's just hanging about the house these days....I've been having computer problems and it seems to be getting worse each day, so it may be awhile before I return to the story. We'll see - I've got my neighbor, (the computer guy who I swear messed it up in the first place, loading something for me), coming over to check it out soon, so maybe it'll get fixed, or maybe it'll hang in there for awhile longer.
If not - see you when I see you.
Take care.

A VERY nice new banner Trix! You have solved the mystery of little dog?? Please, tell US!
Phalon, sorry you have a computer Furie, that's what you get for posting over at the House instead of at your home. That place must be haunted!
Joxie, I am glad to see you writing. We are approaching you I believe. And gleet BTW is the nasal discharge of horses. They won't admit that it's in stock tanks!

Sorry... but I'm not "little dog" I do know who is though... err... I'm pretty sure who it is, let's say. I've never confirmed it. But since Le is "disconnected", this person will need to PM me to get "little dog" registered.
But for really tho: I concur with Phalon. (I've always wanted to use the word 'concur' in a sentence.) Very good to see you posting.
Awww.... thanks... I reread some of my earlier posts, and concluded they weren't bad for someone who feels they're blocked. So, decided that sinking was better than not jumping in and trying.

I had better get that debt paid off then...

Gross! The pond I swam in had cattle... do they excreet gleet too!?! Disgusting!

I am living proof that nobody has ever died, that I am aware of, from swimming in a stock tank-with or without clothes! Gleets are afraid of water, naked humans, and actually quite shy...just like summer snipes. So fear not oh Amazon sisters...dive in a slimy stock tank on a hot August day and experience the defintion of a south Texas spa. EG

Ah! I bow to the mistress of Haiku.
How about iambic pentameter?
On hot days I need to swim And so the stock tank invites me in. But on the edge before I dive I reconsider and count to five. For in the water I shall meet From horse and cow a gift of gleet.

Ohhh! And what about pigs? Do they have gleet as well? I've been swimming in a pond where pigs drank from it.
And you're right Evergreen... That was back when I was a teenager, and I'm still alive now at 46... Does it stunt your growth? I'm 4 foot 8-1/2 inches tall!

Yes, it's good to see our favorite blind, Scottish weaver again. It's been so long, she almost seems like just a gleeting memory.
A Limmerick
There once was an Amazon from Crete, who swam in a tank full of gleet. The gleet was very icky; but the air; hot and sticky, Now she's covered in gleet from head to feet.
