Ok, here's my comments. 1. Curious how Ellie knew what Phalon was wearing and how tall she is.... Because I didn't see a description for Phalon. Then again, maybe I just didn't know where to look. 2. Ellie, how is your character wearing jeans...? Isn't the story supposed to be set in Xena's time? Not trying to call you out, just curious, because I would love to know the story behind that. You ought to bring her background into the story somehow. That'd be cool. 3. Are there any characters in the story other than Phalon and Ellie? 4. Great start to a story, I look forward to reading more!!!

<raises hand, waving it frantically>
Oh, I know, I know! Pick me, pick me!
Very impressed that Ellie did her homework. Since Phalon poofed in from the other story on board, she must have looked up the character description there.
I should probably move the description over here. You know....just in case I decide to poof back in for another post sometime.

I had a thought. If bards happen to have images of their characters, or have found images online that fit their characters, how about posting those images in the description thread ... or even within the story itself? Not a rule, just an idea I got last night.
And, as to how many other characters there are to this story. That depends on how many members jump into the story, and on how many characters they create for the story. The story just started, so it may take a while for others to jump in.
Prattle on.

LOVE the story so far, and how the first post makes references to The Wizard of Oz. Kinda curious about what'll happen when Phalon notices Ellie standing there... *looks forward to next post*
Also... where was i when your sister joined, Ellie? Love her screen name. lol.

yeah i'm curious what'll happen, too. i'm thinking of just putting her background on the description, because i have it all in my head. depending on how phalon reacts, it may be difficult to work ellie's background into the storyline. *ponders*
dunno where you were, jon. hadn't seen you on in a few days. she joined last week, while she was here visiting me and mom.

Glad you liked the references to the Wizard of Oz, Jon. I wondered if it would be confusing, and apologize if it was. The character "Phalon" has been around for a long time, in two other stories here, and I just didn't think she'd end up in a new place without making reference to characters with whom she developed close relationships with.
I know of one other who is thinking about jumping in. Hey you, are you listening? Hurry up and get your bad-@ss in here and save me from myself - quick! I feel another post coming on.
Speaking of jumping in....where the heck is Joxie? Hmmm, Joxie?
I think it's fine to have her background come out in bits and pieces as the story progresses, Ellie, rather than one large chunk. It makes for some interesting posts to include a bit of flashback here and there.

I'm thinking, Phalon. I may have two characters in this one. "Trenna" may join. I've decided I'll go with her, instead of creating a new Joxcenia. And I'm thinking up another character for Mia to play. (Not the Mia from the Whoosher House ... then again, ya never know.)
Laters, TV time is here.

No worries. I don't usually make a fuss about threads going off topic, but I got tired of hunting through post after post of chatter to find story info in past threads and decided to be more strict from now on. If anyone goofs up, I'll just quote their post in the proper thread and delete it from the wrong thread. (Plus, I've been bad about chattering away in those topics myself, so don't worry that I'll get all mean on ya. )

hit the nail on the head there, sis. but i decided to put marina sirtis rather than deanna troi, because i doubt many xenites are also trekkies. i'm a Trekkie! and Deanna Troi RULES! you bards are frickin awesome! love the map of the village you posted, Ellie. you seem to really be getting into the story, and that's great. i'm sure the rest of the story will be awesome, too! *looks forward to next post impatiently*

Hey, Joxie - I've gotta say that I'm finding this confusing as hell. Reading, reading, reading along and all of the sudden a quote comes up out of nowhere, and a person reading doesn't know what it pertains to.
Just my opinion, but the threads aren't that long that the "chatter" gets in the way - even in the House threads, aside from the story itself, the only thread that had any length to it was the "Bard's Banter"....or was it Bard's Babble" - we seemed to do more of that than anything else.
Personally, I think it takes away from the conversational feel of things to have posts moved, and placed elsewhere - it makes both threads all choppy feeling. <shrugs> But then again, I've always been a chatty one, so it's only natural that I'd prefer chit-chat to strictly business.

You weren't named Her wordliness for nothing. But I tend to agree. Writers are free spirits. Better to post in the wrong spot than not at all?

Do you even have a background story for Ellie, or are you just making it up as you go along? Cuz that would be totally like you. Throwing this pumpkin @ Phalon, catch!

The Whoosher House "Mumble Jumble" & "Character Description" threads were 4 pages long. Anyone searching for story info would have had to have gone through 3 pages of chatter in the "Mumble Jumble" thread, and 2 pages of chatter in the "Character Description" thread to find info that pertained to the story.
If only story info is posted to the story info threads, and all chatter is kept to the threads made specifically for chit-chat, then there would be no need to move posts around and thus no confusion for readers.
If desired, I can create locked threads where I copy & paste story info for safe keeping and easy access, (without chatter), or I can create a 'quick links' post where I add links to all the pertinent info. Or combine the two.
I didn't think there would be any problems with my keeping the info threads clean of chit-chat. I thought others would appreciate it.

Oooo, nice toss, Gabrielle on Nutbread. You should think about trying out for our fruitcake tossing team at Christmas. You'd be good at it - because all fruitcake really is is nutbread dressed up for the festive season.
Pumpkin caught, and passed on.
Joxie, whatever you think works best for the shifting posts. My preference would be to just leave them where they are for continuity's sake, but that's just me.
