You can do an internet search for the descriptions/images and other info for: Norma & Norma Bates, and "Typhoid" Mary Mallon. Please post what you use in the character description thread. (Locals) Can link back to the sites where you got the info. Thanks.

I've added the Zombie info, but I'm not quite finished with it yet and will be adding more to it later.

I think I have the Zombies pretty well worked out for this story train. Next up will be the vampires.

i wanted to add werewolf rules because i have this excellent idea for a couple characters. but it wouldn't let me.
here's my thoughts on the werewolf rules:
there are two different types of werewolves: 1. natural born werewolves (who have at least one parent who is a werewolf, and inheirted the werewolf gene) and 2. infected werewolves (who were bitten by a werewolf and have therefore become a werewolf).
rules for natural born werewolves: can change into wolf form at will, and are never forced into their wolf form. they retain control of themselves while in wolf form, and can change back into human form whenever they wish.
rules for infected werewolves: cannot control when they change into wolf form, the full moon forces them to change into wolf form. they lose control of themselves while they are in wolf form, and would even attack and kill their best friend and not remember doing it. they cannot change back into human form at will, they change back at dawn.
if these rules look good, please let me know, because i'm just itching to join this story thread.

Thanks, Jon. Actually, you're pretty close to my thinking on the rules. In the "Sookie Stackhouse" stories, weres & shape shifters are firstborn offspring of two parent weres. Both parents must have the gene to pass it on.
Since you've got this going now, I'll put vampires after werewolves. And the threads are locked until these main 3 are figured out and posted. Then I'll open it up, and you can post. Until then, you can offer more suggestions here, thanks. With help, this board will open up sooner. Me trying to figure this out myself is what's hanging it up.

Okay. I will be adding details about the island, and how it pretty much works. And about Tex, Cal, Virginia, and what they do. It will be later on though, gonna go eat now ... I had to make this post _right_ now though ... I just had to.

Okay. Done with the weres/shifters for the moment, and added the info to various threads. I might think of more later. Now on to figuring out Zombie Island, and posting that info to its proper thread/s. Then on to vampires. And then, hopefully, the locks come off.

Okay ... I have made some changes to the Were/Shifter rules, yet again, and hopefully I'm done with it now and can move on to vampires.

Okay, I've posted the vampire rules. I'll most likely edit them several times before I'm totally happy with it, (add things I forgot), but I'm done toying with it for now. I tried to set it up so everyone can have what they want. Instead of having the vampires be or not be able to go out in the daytime, I set it up so they can do both. So bards who want their vamp to go out in the sun can, and bards who don't want their vamp to go out into the sun can't.
I tried to find happy mediums. Suggestions are welcome.

Try going back over other thoughts you had at about the same time. Stand or walk in the spot where you had the idea. Do what you were doing when you had the idea. Sometimes that helps put me back in that moment and gets the thoughts flowing once again.

Tex and Cal, are they communal characters? i hope so, cuz the idea i have requires Tex to talk. i'll go ahead and post it and if you don't like what i make Tex do and say, i'll change it.

No problem, nice job. Made me giggle. And I do intend to add them to the communal character list, I've just gotta figure out what they look like. I'm thinking Michael Beck for Tex, maybe. Kinda, sorta thinking of Michael Pare for Cal. I like them both together in 'Houston Knights' and thought I might use them here. Not yet sure about Virginia.
Actually, though, I'm not sure if I can see Michael Beck saying "Yo." So I might go in search of someone else. Keanu Reeves maybe? A young Sean Penn? Or maybe Sean Patrick Flanery?
Suggestions are welcome.

BTW: I know I have Norma & Norman Bates and "Typhoid" Mary Mallon listed as 'Locals' on the 'At A Glance' thread, but they are communal locals that everyone can use. So are their establishments. I just haven't gotten around to adding them yet. To get descriptions of Norma & Norman Bates, you can check out the actors who played them in the movies and use the actors and their characters for descriptions and background info. The descriptions and background info for the Bates Motel can come from the movies as well. "Typhoid" Mary Mallon was an actual person, so you can Google to get her description and background info, etc.

hope you like my new post. i have some interesting ideas for Jonah and his family once they reach Zombie Island. but since it was you, Mia, who started the story thread with that sleek-looking car, i figured you'd want to make yourself some tourist characters.

I'm guessing you've seen more Zombie movies than I have. Which was stalling me big time. Maybe with you leading the way I can keep up. I'll try to work up some characters and have them ready by the beginning of the week.

Okay. I think I've got everything added to their various threads. All I like are the tourists, and then I'm ready to jump in and sink or swim on Zombie Island. Maybe I'll pull it off.

based on the original description of the thread, tourists have very short life spans. which is why, as Gabrielle On Nutbread noticed, i didn't bother making incredibly detailed descriptions of mine. and yeah, i've seen a lot of zombie movies. my fav, though... wasn't really a zombie movie. have you seen I Am Legend? good movie, and they're kinda like zombies but not quite. but now whenever i think of zombies, those are the kind that spring to mind. if you haven't seen it, you really oughta. anyway. can't wait to see a new post from you and meet the tourists you're thinking up.

Nopers, I've not seen that movie. My favorite Zombie movie is: 'Night of the Comet'. And I most likely would not have watched it if I had been told it was a zombie movie. I saw another zombie movie at the theater, but I don't remember the name of it. I think it was on some tropical island, but I'm not sure. And I can't remember if I've seen 'Dawn of the Dead' all the way through. I know I've seen parts of it. And that's the only ones I recall ever seeing. I've seen clips of others, but never bothered to watch them all the way through. I do have to admit that 'Zombieland' has piqued my curiosity a tad bit. It seems to be in the same vein as 'Night of the Comet'. Perhaps I like comedic zombies instead of serious zombies. I also liked the ep of Sliders that had the Zombies too. But then, it was only an hour, and the zombies weren't on screen too long. Maybe they'll grow on me after having to write them. Hopefully I can do them justice.

i don't think zombies will be that difficult to write. but that's just me. what i have planned for the zombies are basically cameo parts, just with them chasing tourists and such, without adding too much detail. i think that's the trick with zombies... you gotta be careful to not add too much detail. let the readers decide in their heads what the zombies look like. again, though, that's just my opinion on the subject. i'm itching to post, so i hope you add your tourists and post soon.
