Hey Angel!!! Glad you joined the party. And thanks for the link. I knew they had another CD out. After the last one, I haven't been in a hurry to run to this one, but this song is cool.
Stone Sour rocks! Glad you like it!

No on the earphones. We have to be able to answer phones. Technically we aren't even allowed radios but the bosses look the other way as long as we keep it real low.

Kinda late posting on this, but I'm not sure yet if I'm lovin' the Stone Sour tune yet; it's worth a few more listens though.
But love, love, love Cornell's The Keeper. Thanks for the tunage linkage, Sis!

No problem, sis! Glad you made it by.
Cornell's voice is so amazing. It's hard not to like anything he sings. But...I kinda feel that way about Eddie, too!
What did you think of your new Chevelle? I'm kinda with Hubs with them. I always listen, but not usually over and over.

Not to mention he's quite pleasing to look at too. Hot, hot, hot.
I honestly haven't heard a whole lot of the Chevelle CD. I stuck it in the car, and since I haven't driven much lately - maybe just 5 or 10 minute trips - I'm only getting it in short, little bursts. I need to bring it back inside and put it on while I'm cooking, or something that has me staying in one place long enough to listen all the way through.
I think short, little bursts may be how some people prefer Chevelle; I know that's Hubs' preference, anyway. Their sound is almost discordant - like some parts of their songs don't mesh with other parts; chaotic might be a good word to describe them. They kind of remind me a bit of Tool in that way. I like the sound of both bands though - Tool's 10,000 Days is a road-trip CD for sure.
The only Chevelle CD I've listened to over and over is "Wonder What's Next". It's great from beginning to end, and is still one of my favorites.

Hubs came home from work yesterday singing "Last Train to Clarksville", and when I asked him why he chose this particular ear worm, he told me Davy Jones had died.
I had the biggest little girl crush on Davy from watching The Monkees reruns after school. He was probably my first swoon ever.

Interesting, Jox. I'm still not sure why we want to sing about pulling the feathers off a lark. Odd how little silly songs come about and then grow up to be in colorful TV commercials.

I'm not sure I'd have sung that song so joyfully as a child if I'd known what it was saying. I thought it was something like the song that went: "Where is Pinkie ... where is Pinkie ... Here I am ... here I am"

Thanks for the links, Sis. "For Whom the Bell Tolls" has always been a favorite Metallica song of mine, and way back I used to listen to "Sweet Jane" on vinyl over and over. Ozzy...what can I say. Despite the constant jokes about his brain being fried beyond functioning, there's some sort of something I find endearing about the man....and I love Sharon. Talk about the woman behind the man; without her he'd surely have been dead decades ago.

What are you tryin' to do, Sis? Kill me? Sheesh, if I tried skiing to Adrenaline, I'd probably keel over. Great song though, and I really, really like "Amaryllis".
I heard this one on the way home from work yesterday; new to me, though the CD was released sometime last fall.
"Look Around" by Red Hot Chili Peppers:
The only other song I've heard played on the radio from their newest CD is "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie", which always gets stuck in my head whenever I hear it, (which is often because Hubs is always singing it just because he thinks it's funny I get songs stuck in my head so easily). Love this one though, and I don't mind it being stuck there:
That's the thing about Red Hot Chili Peppers - their songs are so catchy, you can't help but sing along....sometimes for days; their songs also have great stickability.

I like RHCP, sis, but for only for a minute or two. They are kinda like Chevelle to me...I listen and learn, because they are played to death on the radio, but then if I'm channel surfing there is usually always something else that I would rather listen to. (wow, is there anything right about that sentence structure??)
Lots of good stuff out right now. And oh, I was desperately looking for something in my computer files yesterday & came across a folder with every single playlist I have ever created for anyone! It was deja vu, exciting, interesting...lots all rolled into one remembering when I made those CDs. And you still listen to that stuff??
Anyway...gotta get to work. Will share more later. And thanks for stopping by & sharing in this thread. I feel like it keeps us connected in a way....silly, I guess.

BOLL at your incredulousness(?)...incredulicity(?)...(trying to find a suffix for incredulous that doesn't get a red underline...and giving up because I decided I like incredulicity whether it's a word or not). And yes, I still listen. Not silly. It's how we "met", ya know. Our first real Whoosh conversation centered around music. * * * I got in the car the other day, caught the tail end of a song after which the DJ announced it was the new one from Soundgarden. Soundgarden? New? Went drilling and found they've released their first new song in fifteen years for the upcoming movie, The Avengers. Cornell says the band just picked up where it left off. The full song has been removed from YouTube due to copyright infringements or whatever, but here's a blurb (just about as much as I caught on the radio): www.rollingstone.com/music/news/soundgarden-release-snippet-of-first-new-song-in-15-years-20120326While drilling, I found this unlikely combination (one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong)... www.guitarworld.com/photo-day-slash-marilyn-manson-johnny-depp-and-alice-cooper-revolver-golden-gods

"incredulicity"...I love it! It rolls off the tongue just like it was always right there in the Merriam Webster! Bravissimo! I have heard the new Soundgarden tune once so far on the radio. I like it. (and want to see the new Avengers movie that goes with it as well) Hard to believe after 15 years that they just appear out of nowhere...and so strongly. And then I heard there was a cover of Hunger Strike out... Hunger Strike ~ HalestormHmmm...whether it's Temple of the Dog, Pearl Jam or Chris Cornell & Eddie Vedder, even though she has an amazing voice with lots of range, following that lead is going to be tough. I probably would like it better if I had never heard the original or seen this video... Hunger Strike ~ Vedder & CornellAnd that last link you posted....wow! That is one of the motliest crew I have ever seen! Tried to find Depp's cover of "You're So Vain"...but no luck yet.

Touching video, Jox...sharing it with someone I know will love it on Fb....'k? Lots of new stuff out or on the way... Sis, I've always like 12 Stones, but NEVER hear them on the radio. Consequently, I forget about them. I like pretty much everything off the new CD. You could work up a sweat to that...yes? Linkin Park has a new CD...sounds like Linkin Park. I like "Leave Out All the Rest", mostly because it came out right after Mary died and I'll always think the two were connected in some alter universe, but I'm not really "moved" by the new song.
