Sensitive skin - is that from the original disease?

It's most likely the Prednisone. It causes her skin to become thin and tear easily. She can roll over in bed and if her skin catches on the covers it can tear her skin open. The high levels of phosphorous is also causing her skin to itch. She scratches until she bleeds, then picks at the sores.

Prednisone is some wicked sh!t. I'd cringe whenever they'd put LX on it when she was a toddler; she'd get frequent pneumonia as a result of not being able to keep her lungs clear due to asthma. Joxie, have your Mom's doctors ever considered changing her Prednisone dosage? Common side effects of the drug are excessive and unusual fatigue, confused speech and memory loss. Might be something to talk to them about, if only to rule it out. Here's a discussion on the topic: www.drugs.com/answers/mom-takes-40-mg-prednisone-daily-she-very-unclear-565346.html

Usually she stays on 10mg of Prednisone. When her WGs returns, they up it. Usually to 60mg, but this time to 40mg. They weened her down to 20mg, and now back to 10mg.
stepper: I started the Windows 10 download last night at about 8:20. I just got finished with the whole process. Whew!

It sure can take a lot of time - I'm glad you got it done Joxcee. And I think you'll like how it works too. My next suggestion is to look up how to turn off some of the default options to restore your privacy. I'm sure the links about things to turn off when you upload Window's 10 are still available.

I got kind of used to some of the things I hated about 8, and it seems strange not to have the apps page anymore. I'm a bit lost. I'm sure once I learn my way around I'm gonna love not having that apps page anymore. I wish the start pop up had text instead of apps though.

Yay for you, Joxie! Keeping up with the latest technology is tough sometimes just because it takes time....
...and apparently sometimes more money than you bargained for.
I had my computer guy over yesterday because I couldn't get the printer to work wirelessly with the new router or my laptop. Sigh. Turns out it wasn't the router, it is that the printer won't work with anything above Windows 7. So laptop, wireless mouse, router...and now a printer. Hopefully that's it. What else can there be?
Good thing I never attempted to upgrade to Windows 10 on my old computer; good thing the old gal is still hooked up and hogging all my desk space. I've got a lot of printing to do this week (our writer's group is offering a scholarship in memory of a member who recently died and I've got to get all the stuff to the high school). I've been working on the laptop (surprising to me is that once I got used to it, I like it a whole lot better than the desk top), putting everything I need on a thumb-drive, running over to my desk, downloading from the thumb drive onto my old computer, just so I can print. I miss being at my desk though - it's like my control center.

What else can there be? Hopefully the new printer and the 'old gal' can understand each other or your new printer will only work with the new laptop. You'll be in the position of having to retire the old system entirely.

They're cheap enough that I have two ... my original didn't want to work with Windows 10. The new one works with both Windows and Macs. In fact, I've had no trouble transferring documents back and forth between my Mac and my PC.

Cool thing is, that it's just the opposite. Right now with the current printer the only device that we can print from is my old computer. With a new printer, Hubs' laptop which had Windows 8 until he upgraded to 10, my laptop, BP's Mini Ipad, and even our phones will all have the capability to connect to the printer.
The "old gal" will be retired to BP's room - although I've always kept it hard-wired just because it's a desktop and never moved, it is actually a wireless computer. If she chooses to use it for homework purposes, she uses Google Docs, so she'll be able to pull up what she needs to print from any other device; essays and other schoolwork these days though, is rarely printed - Google Docs pretty much eliminates the need for hard-copies. I'm pretty sure though, she'll download Sims, which computer guy says will "bury the computer pretty fast" - and he's had plenty of experience with Sims crashing computers because one of his daughters plays it.
Which leaves the old printer. It's up for grabs. It's an HP Wireless Deskjet F4580 Printer/Scanner/Copier and is free for the taking; otherwise I'm just gonna try to find somewhere to donate it, or drop it off at Goodwill. Like Spock mentioned about something else though, I'd need for the taker to pay shipping - and the thing weighs a ton.
Because I didn't know such a thing existed! Cool beans. Kind like jumper cables - at least, in appearance.

Because I didn't know such a thing existed! Cool beans. Kind like jumper cables - at least, in appearance. Almost exactly like jumper cables. Once installed, the included software should open a file browser on both computers. If I want to transfer files from computer A to Computer B, I would open the remote (Computer A) file browser on Computer B as well as a local (Computer B) file browser. Then I would simply cut or copy files from the remote browser and paste them into the local browser wherever I wanted them to go. You aren't limited to just files either, you can cut/copy entire folders. I have a lot of Game Documents that I have backed up on my Mac but will sometimes copy them back over to my PC so I have them available there as well. I currently have 35.11 GB of mostly text file documents and images (31,457 items) backed up on my Mac. Periodically I will sort through to get rid of duplicates and outdated information on either the Mac or the PC. Then I will delete everything on the computer I didn't sort and copy the sorted folders over. I have too much time invested to keep only a single copy, so I also make a couple of copies to USB Drives. I have three 128 GB USB 2 and USB 3 drives just for that type of thing. Here's what the directory looks like. I like to keep everything sorted so I can easily find anything I might need.

I'm glad it's working out for you, and glad you aren't hearing "Why didn't we do this sooner?"

I wish I could be so organized....and I don't have nearly as much to organize.
