Don't worry about Phalon. She's watching her ghostly figure and will pass on dinner. I'm sure she'll find something else to get into while you all chat.

I've been trying to work up some backstory that might have consequences for the cast in the House. But we're not near a volcano, are we? By the way, exactly where is the House of Whoosher? Or is that one of the deep secrets?

It's on a bluff, near the sea. I'm picturing New England, for some reason. Maine maybe. Hey, I wonder if you all are having lobster for dinner.

Guru and his wife lived in a log cabin on Kalama River west of Mount St. Helens. She died the night of May 17th, 1980. The same evil that killed her set off the volcano the next morning.
And if the same evil is in the House, it can wreak more large-scale havoc. (...but not until later in the story...)
That's why Guru is so afraid.

Oh yeah, and I had the smell of roasting chicken wafting up from the kitchen in an earlier post. I wonder if it's burnt or cold by now.
Was that "before" or "after" Joxcee got singed?

And how do we know if it's the same thing......I think something was metioned earlier about a vengful wife.....

|
|
Post by guru on Nov 5, 2004 1:22:15 GMT -6
It could be that the vengeful wife made a deal with the larger evil entity. Guru's dead wife is about to make a deal of her own.
Now someone said chicken...

I don't know Joxie. It was sometime right before Phalon entered the library. I think Joxie at the time, wasn't wandering the walls yet, because was it her that Guru saw as he left the library, which was after Phalon entered it.
Whew! Was that actually a sentence?
Mt. Saint Helens? Hhmmm.

Ok Guru, since there are a few of us here, (where'd Joxie run off to. Darn it, that girl never stays in one place long enough to get a handle on her), any ideas?
I disappear off the board when I work on my post in Word. I have a couple of short paragraphs... don't know if I'll have it ready for tonight... hopefully I will.

Darn it. I was almost outta here. I think the explaining on the skewering thing is up to Guru. That part is his story and I only borrowed it for the post. Thanks again.
Hope to see something from you on the morrow, Joxie. Catch you up to the rest of the gang.
Night again.

Guru may not have seen Joxcee as he exited the library. It could've been something trying to look like her. Something ... evil but not necessarily big.
Phalon saw in Guru's mind the image of his murdered wife but not how she came to be disassembled. So she will of course suspect him until she gets more info.
I'm stuck in dial-up h*ll, so my posts here are probably lagging.

Yeah... I considered that... so if I come up with something that doesn't get me downstairs, I'll just let it slide and leave readers hanging.
If it's trying to appear to be me, then it can't be too big.

Okay... I just had to leave it there... ya gotta have cliffhangers... so it's a good thing we're on a cliff by the sea.
BTW: I sort of envision the Collinwood House of Dark Shadows.

Hi Dixie. Hope "reeeaal busy" at work is a good thing and not a pull your hair out by the roots while banging your head against the wall type thing. Hope to see a post from you soon, but if not, no worries, take care.
Joxie - nice. Leaves a ton of possibilities.
I image of the house I have in my head is the same image of the house from the story of which the title is taken, (sort of - a kind of play on words, Joxie?) Anyway, that's what I pictured when we first started writing this. Soooo...while staring at the screen one night writing a post and the words were not coming, I kind of threw in a tiny phrase from another work from the author who wrote the story of the house which I pictured in my head. And have been doing it sporadically since then.
All the Halloween candy that my kids have left to whoever figures out what the heck I'm talking about - the author and the piece I've taken phrases from. And no bother if noone understands any of what I just said. I'm just amusing myself anyway.

It's been a while since I've seen the movie, so I can't quite remember the house. I also think of the house in the movie Rebecca when I'm writing.

That's my favorite version too. I finally bought the book a few years ago... I read it during my dad's bypass surgery. I think maybe it's time to reread it again.
BTW: Scrappy... I saved and uploaded the gargoyle images to the MSN Group and changed the links in your post. I didn't want to get in trouble with ProBoards for hotlinking... and if the site ever shut down or deleted their images, it would leave the thread with red X's.
