So, after a few question AND with a little help we´ve a greater tavern now. The wall over there is now five meters farer as before and there are now four seperate beds for our tired guests. ( as wished from Xengab and Co. ) Three atlants wear the roof, looks like statues. Left and right are two warroirs, and the atlant at the middle is a sword. The windows are made from mahogany, the door is oak with hinge made out romish iron. If you wanna know something about the decoration - so please ask Xengab ( the one with the rocking chair over there! ) Enjoy the place and the time!

Hey Eirene! The new place looks great. Here, I'll just leave a colorful bouquet of fall leaves - orange, gold, and red, a couple branches of witch hazel, and a few sprigs of Cimicifuga thrown in. Do you have that at your nursery? Really cool late fall blooming perennial - grows huge, with fluffy panicles of tiny flowers. There, that brightens the place up a bit.
Scrappy!!! I love coffee ice-cream! There is a parlor in town here that makes its own ice-cream. My absolute favorite is Cappuccino - mmmmm, creamy goodness with huge chunks of chocolate thrown in for that extra bonus. Perhaps you'd care to make your own concoction? Coffee ice-cream blended with that well-blended best of whiskeys, Jack Daniels. We could call it Scrappuccino. Think I'll have one now - it's my day off work, so why not?
Xengab, sweet dreams to you.

You know Phalon? I actually treid making some whisky Ice cream once. It turned out really bad. Quite disappointing. I couldn't even eat enough to catch a buzz....plus it tasted bad. Oh well, best laid plans you know!

LMAO, Scrappy. Just how much whiskey did you try mixing in? I'd think just a dash would be enough to do the trick. Maybe I'll attempt to come up with something palatable in my kitchen that is also known as Phalon's laboratory....not that anything palatable has ever come out of there before - but there is always a first time for everything, no?

Hey I thought that blueberry cream cheese pie thing turned out great. But then no one has ever accused me of having good taste. Keep in mind I also have a cold right now, so actual tasting is out as well..........

Oh yes.... the white chocolate blueberry creme pie....I remember it well. It was tasty, wasn't it? Most likely because I bought it at the little bakery on the berry farm. But, I'll take credit, if you won't tell anyone, okay? Especially Mrs. Earl, cuz she's the one who made it.

Thanks Joxie! Phalon, my sons ( 2 ) are 7 and 10 years old/young. Your leaf looks great - brings a warm and light mood in our Tavern! If someone will change the decoration with paintings, reliefs or other stuff - so feel yourself free to do so. Yes, we got the same plants in our nursery. Scrappy, are so kind to make me a stracciatella and chocolate icecream? Please? Xengab, where are you?! Even, when i´m looking for, you aren´t here! Why? What have i done....?? That makes me sooo sad!!! *snief*

Good morning everyone. Or evening, depending on where you are.
I have to say I am quite impressed with this tavern. People from many cultures have definetly found a common ground here.
Believe it or not, most of you won't, when we were at the old boards I used to come around almost every morning and start the coffee and converse a bit.
This new Tavern is certainly more lively. The old one had gotten to where there were just a few of us visiting. I know I have sd. it before, but I will try and stop in more often.
I noticed the other day some of you were discussing the ages of your children, so I thought I would throw mine in. My BABY will be 18 next week. I can hardly believe it and I have to say that the last few days I have been very nostalgic. Things that I would have thought were long forgotten have been popping into my head. For the most part I raised him by myself and I think that has made for a closesness that can't be rivaled.
When he got his drivers license at 16, I think we both started doing much more independent things. I didn't realize until just recently that I was really missing the old days. What do you think? Do I sound like someone that is going to submit to empty nest syndrome when he leaves?
That was alot of rambling. But if there was a meaning to it, I guess just that all you mothers of young ones might want to give them an extra hug, because believe me, they will be gone before you know it.
I think I am going to try one of Eirenes cherbans and head on out.
I hope you all have a great day.

Hello there, old friend. I say old, not referring to your age, of course, cuz we are just a couple of spring chickens, no? Old, because, dang, has it been that long since we've been conversing here? I remember when your son just got his driving permit! Oh, how you fretted. Tell the young man, I say, "Happy Birthday." Let him know it's from the lady who can never seem to pronounce his name correctly.
Ahh....let me grab a seat by the fire here. And some hot chicken broth before I tuck the quilt around me. Chilled to the bone, I am. Drizzle all day, and worked outside in it until about 11am. That's when my co-worker and I decided it was time to call it quits for the day and head home to dryer ground. The boss said she'd cover the store for us, since we were both drenched. Darn, the wetness crept through two coats, coveralls, and my sweatshirt, leaving only my turtleneck as a dry layer of protection from total wetness. My feet? Forget about it. Two layers of socks - soaking wet, and they look like little shriveled prunes. Same with my fingers.
You'd think the weather would cooperate just a little? Very few customers now, until the Christmas season gears up. I'll be gone by then, though, because the fresh cut greenery and evergreen boughs play havoc with my allergies. I've got just three weeks left to go. Most of the staff is already gone. Just me and one gal other in retail, and the two landscape crews are left. Lots, and lots to do outside, and very little left to do inside. Snow is predicted for tomorrow, so another icky day to be pruning, chopping back and hauling plants around.
Hubs is at it again. Urgh. The poor man is a walking accident waiting to happen. He just got over a twisted ankle from working on the roof. Before that, it was his surgery for a torn tendon in his elbow. Then there was that time he fell off the pier and broke a couple ribs, (no sympathy for him on that one, as he and my brother were thinking they were 20 years younger than what they are). And now...he has a neck injury. Why? Because he did something the exact opposite of what I told him to do. Wait, for my help, I said. It's too heavy to lift by yourself, I told him. I am talking about a boulder I brought home from work that took two of us to get into my car. What does Hubs do? He goes out, while I'm walking with the girls, throws it up on his shoulder and walks halfway across the yard, before he decides that yes, it was too heavy. Grrrr. After 18 years, you'd think he'd learn to listen to me. I have to listen to him as he moans and groans about how much pain he's in. There, there, Dear. You know I love you....just venting a bit.
Later all, and have a nice dry day.

Brrr, it finally got chilly on my home front. Up until yesterday we were still having temps in the 80's. Overnight we went from running a/c to heat. Next few nights are suppose to be in the 30's.
Xengab, please do join me for a drink. How about some nice hot coffee this morning to warm these creaky bones. And lots of caffeine for the request from that southern lady from the north.
Phalon, sorry about your husband. He has had a time of it. I don't think it is safe for him to go out.
Ok, coffee is ready. I am going to grab a mug and head out. Have a great weekend.
The sun is shining!
