Way to go Little Xena. You have every reason to be proud of her Phalon. I sure remember those days. I think my son strives to hit every letter in the alphabet now on his report cards. Well the first 4 anyway.
My yard only wishes I worked in a nursery and could bring new playmates home every day. It is truly lacking this year. We have had an early cold snap that has had Jack Frost visiting. My gerber daisies and marigolds are a yucky shade of brown now. And they were looking so good, with all their abundance of orange color. So fitting this time of year, with Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Xengab, why don't you join me for some coffee or hot tea this morning? And if I know Phalon, and I do, she will probably come in for a cup when she empties the pot at her friends.
Eirene, as many others have said, your interpretation of the English language is very good. I read your fairy tale in the other thread and was able to follow along quite nicely. And I think you have me hooked on your cherbans.
Hope you all have a very nice day. The sun is shining!

Hi all together! Xengab, I've got there a idea to build shower rooms for our tribe here in our tavern with warm and cold water, connected with a new boiler for your kitchen. What do you think 'bout it? The plans are almost ready in my head... In this time I'll drink with you a cherban or two. Erco, thanks for your compliment ( shyly grin ) my problem is very often, that I think in more than one language. ( think in one - write in another - dream another again, that nerv me sometimes very hard but thats a problem if you grew up with more than two languages )

Hello all.
Eroc, (may I still call you that?), I was thinking about you the other day, as I sprayed all my tender evergreens with an antidessicant, (latex), spray to hold the moisture in their leaves during the cold winter winds off the lake. Did my azalea and saw gobs of buds that will open into flowers in spring if the freezing winter temperatures don't kill them. Do you see buds on yours? Please say yes, and that you didn't cut them all off.
Last Saturday of work this year for me is tomorrow. Finally, it will be nice to spend an entire weekend with Hubs and the girls.
I hope everyone has a nice weekend, and hope those we haven't seen here in a while are off doing something grand.

Hi Xengab. I'm always ready for a cup of coffee, even if it will keep me up drinking it this late.
The weather here has turned decidedly colder. We've actually been pretty mild this far into fall - a few really cold and very wet days, but nothing frigid yet. This past week, although mostly gloomy and rainy, the temperatures have been in the 60s. Not too bad, and maybe I'll get through the work season without having to work in the snow. Only two more days left!!!
Oh, and Eroc, you never did answer my question about your azaleas. Smile.
Hope everyone enjoys their Monday.

Good afternoon!
Hi Xengab, Phalon, Eirene and all you others. Hope your Monday is going well. Unfortunatly Phalons wish for us all to have a good one is not working so far. I'm just not feeling up to par today. I believe I will hang out here and drink some hot tea for a while.
Phalon, you may call me anything you like. You would be amazed at what I've been called in my lifetime. I'd elaborate, but there might be some young ones here.
Did you ever think there may be a reason why I have not answered your azalea question? I mean, my little picture/avatar box is blank, that should mean something. (hanging my head in shame).
I have had the same azalea bushes for 12 years. They have never seemed to bloom very well, until I asked for your expert advice about 2 years ago. When I asked if it was ok to trim, I got a resounding no, no, no. Remember? Of course you do!
So I didn't trim that year. This spring I had beautiful azaleas. Well those darn bushy things got on my nerves after the blooms fell off. I trimmed them. Yes I did. But at least I did do it right after the blooms fell off. Ok, I don't think you wanted all that. Just a simple answer, right? NO BLOOMS! There, are you happy? I messed up again. Now it will be 2 years.
Sorry, for your cold weather. We have been in the 70's for the last several days. Can you believe it was so hot in the house last night at bed time we turned the air on?
Ok, back to my nap, er, I mean work.
Have a great day. The sun is shining.

You didn't? Even after the triple no? For shame, Eroc, for shame. Here, have a nice cup of tea to cheer you up and make you feel better. Hope you feel up to par soon.
One more day left of work and not a moment too soon. Our first amountable snow of the season is scheduled to start tomorrow night and into Wednesday. Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Which reminds me...to anyone traveling over the holiday weekend - have a safe and pleasant trip.

Thanks Xengab. There is sure to be lots and lots of leftover feast, so I'll be sure to bring in some pumpkin pie, and my favorite of the season - sweet potato pie.
Think I'll start some coffee, even though I shouldn't. Nobody here to drink it, which means I'll have way too much, which means I'll be up way too late.
Ah well...I don't have to get up for work tomorrow. Smile.

No complex, please, Xengab. As promised I've brought a pumpkin pie...with lots of whipped cream. Here, there is a large slice with your name written all over it.
Eirene...enjoy your time off! I'm sure it is well deserved.
We had a rather odd Thanksgiving holiday - Bitter Sweet. It snowed about six inches Wednesday during the day and into the night. It made for a rough drive to Mom's Thursday morning - a trip that normally takes about 4-5 hours, took over 6 and a half, even though the roads were clear of snow...just lots of people waiting the storm out and all of them on the road on Thursday. Add two kids anxious to see Grandma, and it made for a trying trip.
We were traveling not only for Thanksgiving dinner with the family, but also to attend a funeral for my uncle as well. It was great to spend time with Mom and my brothers, and to see cousins, aunts and uncles that I haven't seen in years, but obviously, I wish it were under different circumstances. As often happens though when people who loved someone get together, it turned into a celebration of the man's life, and not strictly a somber mourning of what was lost. That is how it should be, I think - reflecting what he meant to each of us with plenty of smiles and laughter, mixed in with the tears.

Hi Phalon!Sorry about your your uncle. It's sad, that we wait so long to meet up with our loved ones, until there is a funeral. It happens to us all the time. Most of them live such a long way away. So, you have snow already,we haven't seen any yet. Thanks for the pumkin pie,I'm glad you remembered to bring it. Bye for now.

I'd like a drink, Xengab. Anything without caffiene. That sounds weird, even to my ears. Too much today though, and I think I'd better lay off or I'll be awake all night.
Thanks for the condolences. He was a great guy - my favorite uncle. Sigh.
<zips out looking for something to occupy her rather caffiene-overstimulated-muddled head>

How about a coffee for you and me, Xengab? Yes it was great to see my whole family and my island again. There are my roots, the island gives you a feeling of freedom, proud and a lot of stubborness. ;D I do love the storms, even if I must run for my life some times. In the summertime you can see endless wheatfields and it looks like a ocean when the wind blowes above the fields. On the horizont you can see the river, who devide the island from the mainland. Like a silver snake he floats between both sides and let the over 800 years old city looks like fortress, which is protecting all around them.

Good morning, good morning, good morning. Way ready for caffiene now. Thanks, Xengab.
Eirene, the way that you describe your island is absolutely beautiful. It sounds very picturesque.
Good day to all. Think I'll take Baby Phalon for a nice long walk. It's foggy outside, not too cold. I love the fog.

Hi Xengab. Stopped in at a friend's house for coffee and chat, then went on a nice foggy walk down by the lake. That was before the rain and sleet started. Urgh. If it's winter, it might as well snow, instead of rain.
I'd love to revisit England again - this time see the Northern part. I've been a couple of times, but always south...London and Salisbury. We loved it.
Happy tomorrow to everyone.

To answer your question Xengab. The federal country ( Mecklenburg/Vorpommern ) , where am I come from is the poorest country in germany. The unemployedment is by over 50%, but the rents for flat/house is almost certainly the highest behind München and Hamburg. In other countrys you earned mor money for the same work with lower rents to pay for a flat or something else. The greatest money makes this F.C. with tourists they came every year from England and the USA ( not all, but most of them ;D , every summer over 1,5 - 2,0 million visitors ) The people there are very friendly, helpful and they give their last shirt away if it is necessary. Over 90 % of Mecklenburg/ Vorpommern is pure nature yet with a lot of wild animals, thick forests, many lakes and old ships. ( the old sailorships like "Gorch Fog" , "Mayflower 2" and all the old ships came one time in a year to my hometown, the mates feels themselfs like in a family - because the do this since over 14 years -one knows the other ) And it's worth to make there a vacation. ;D
