So hang out for a while and speak your mind. Better to get it off your chest than to keep it in.....

I'll take something, Eirene....do you drink iced tea over there? I would like to try a new iced tea...something with lemon, not too sweet...something natural.....I love green tea...... Now, when you have a day off, do you spend it outside at your home gardening & such, or do you like to stay inside.....We have had 75-80 degree days & now tomorrow it is suppose to be a high of 45 with 25mph wind gusts.....I hope it doesn't kill all the spring life that is going on all around us....all the colors are so beautiful right now!! BTW, it's great to see you around...... ...enjoy your day!!!

Hello, xengab! I will have something hot & invigorating with you this morning.....ARGH!!...the cold weather came back! Trying to get my three ladies out the door this morning. The girls are getting $2/hr today to help out at Mary's work. Today is "Thunder Over Louisville". It is all-day festivities that marks the opening of the Kentucky Derby Festival. It leads up to one of the biggest fireworks displays in the world tonight....are you familiar with The Kentucky Derby...."the fastest two minutes in sports". I love to watch those beautiful horses run, they are magnificent creatures.
Well, just wanted to say good morning & hope you have a peaceful day......

Morning Xengab. Morning Marysgurl.
I'll take a very hot cup of coffee this morning - it's turned cold here too....snowy cold. Brrr. Make that a hot cup of coffee, and a thermos to go, please. Working outside today, and anything to keep warm.....well, almost anything.
It's Derby time already? Reminds me of my brother's wedding - the only of my match making attempts that actually worked. Living in KY at the time, and I decided that one of my friends would be the perfect match for my brother....only problem is that he was living in MI. Hhmmmm.....big party at Phalon's and bro came down. The two met, and continued their long distance relationship for a short period of time, before she moved up to Michigan. The wedding date was set shortly afterwards - Derby Day. Her father was a huge fan of horse-racing. Good thing the Derby is the "fastest two minutes in sports", or he would have missed walking her down the aisle.
Thanks for the coffee. Off to work now.
Keep warm, or at least, keep warm thoughts.
Later, all.

Phalon the matchmaker...oh how sweet.
I haven't seen much in horse racing since I was a kid and then I was the designated babysitter on the playground near the track. They had the best toys there. The adults would go enjoy the show and I got to taste the dirt and keep the kids from bugging them. It was a little price to pay for the swimming pool we had put in with the winnings one year.
Time for a nice glass of soda...Dinner time fast approaches and I haven't set out a thing. Maybe a trip to the local pizzarea is in order. We have designated tonight movie night with the family. I can't wait...

You bein' sarcastic, GP? I'll have you know I've quite the matchmaker abilities, being one for about 48. Ok, ok...so that is the reason I've given it up, and stick to matching socks these days.

Not sarcastic at all...it is wonderful when others come together in love and friendship. Sometimes it takes another to see the possibilities. As for the matching sock trick that can be a major feet as well...I do think there is someone or something that has two left feet around this house and stealing all of the socks that fit.

The one with two left feet around this house is me....and perhaps that is the reason for my clumsiness. All these years I've been wearing matching sets of socks, when I should have just been wearing left ones. Right?

EXACTLY...I just don't know why my left ones disappear. That is what I get for buying socks that are not universal...I just love the little pictures on the outside. Now I have to wear them on the inside so I can only see them right when I am sitting cross legged on the floor and get real how often do we all do that?
OHMmmmm...

Xengab, I am so saddened and shocked by your news. I have not been around much lately and had no idea things were so bad.
Please accept my condolences. I know it is very devastating to you to lose your love. I am glad for you both that it was peaceful. Please stay strong and take care of yourself.
I will continue to think of you!

Xengab, I can not imagine losing my spouse or experiencing the devastation you must be feeling. It is during times such as these of overwhelming sorrow, that you must rely on family and friends to help pull you through. I hope you do that, and know that we too, are here for you.
I believe that sometimes confiding in those that are not directly involved can be a great relief, and you have friends here willing to listen and those who care about you.
My deepest condolences,
Cindy

Xengab.....it's hard to even try & come up with words to help ease the sadness that your heart must be feeling right now....I can't imagine how I would find the strength to even get out of bed. I guess it would have to be for the little ones above all. Know that you are in mine & Mary's thoughts & prayers & we'll be sending all the love & support we can across the many miles that seperate us.

I've been very bad about posting the birthdays to the calendar... ...but the new upgrade is suppose to have a "Today's Birthdays" at the bottom of the forum... so that will be a good new thing.
