This is spring?! Work starts Monday.
This ought to be interesting. Snow is still on the ground, and is still in the forecast. The crews always start a month earlier to unbury the trees and shrubs from their protective piles of mulch, and take the freeze blankets off the more tender plants, and bring the nursery stock from the back forty up to retail. My boss said they've only been able to work three days during the entire month of March. Pots are still frozen to the ground. When everything thaws it's going to be a slushy, mucky mess.
Customers are starting to appear, wondering when we are going to open. They are ready.
Today, I splurged and bought a pair of Muck Boots. I am ready!

Well for me I can't decide, I have all sorts.
Sang too much, voice finally quite. (its meant to be amusing, I tend to sing a lot, and I mean without stopping most days, singing and singing all day, sometimes its annoying to people. But la oh well lol.)
Wow I finally made it in?
Forget y'all I am outta here. (Lol that sums up the attitude.)
I gave the meaning to attitude.
(All can think of for the nonce.)

Clock's go forward, lose some sleep.
Clock's go forward, time marches on.
Does it though? Once a year, time steps backward!

May I ask, what are wellies? Wellington boots. I knew I should have put 'galoshes' in brackets.

No, Moonglum - I guessed boots of some sort, but was ignorant of Wellingtons. I had to two-minute drill just to see what I was missing; they are kinda like my Muck Boots - I've got the equistrian tack model of those, because the work boots didn't come in my size, (apparently women with small feet don't work?). Dang, I love these things, and wish I would have broke down and bought them years ago; having cold, wet feet while working all day is the worst. www.muckbootcompany.com/products/TKM-000M Are Wellies worn on the farm, specifically around cattle, called Beef Wellingtons? And have you ever participated in wellie wanging?

And have you ever participated in wellie wanging? Vox has a certificate for 'Wellie Throwing'. What a sad life we lead!

<mumble, mumble.....yawn>
"Gotta-get-up; gotta-get-up."
What day is it? WEDNESDAY!!! My day off! Grrrrr. I set my alarm last night by mistake. It rang. Stumbled downstairs, and had a cup of coffee before I realized that no, I didn't have to get up this morning. Do you think I could then go back to sleep?
<grumble, grumble. Yawn.>

"I'm the Black Thumb of Death."
No, not me - though I have committed planticide a few times. The Black Thumb of Death was a customer yesterday; he readily admitted it. "Uhm.....I'm not feeling too comfortable about selling you these trees, ya know." I sadly waved goodbye to them; their crowns hanging low out of the back of his truck, and wondered what fate they'd have to endure. I think I heard maniacal laughter coming from inside the cab as they drove away.
