AH HA! Of course!!! I guess it's time for me to bow out to see if anyone else can get the answer ... though I don't actually get "1" ... No, in military time you would have to get 13. But you had the idea dead to rights.

Anyway, here's another riddle: A person gets a job as a traveling salesperson and is required to travel to all of the lower 48 states, but is only allowed to do so once. In which state does the salesperson have to either begin or end his/her travels? O O O!! (Raises hand.) Pick me pick me!! I know this one. Or maybe someone else would like to answer it???

You'd have to begin or end your trek in Maine because it borders only one state.
Sorry...I've got some old riddles around someplace. Maybe I can find one to challenge you. Until then, this one is much more fun as an aural but...
Pretend you are driving a bus with 31 seats and two bench seats. There are 14 passengers. After the 1st right, 2 get off and 5 board. At the 1st left 8 board. At the 2nd right another 8 board so a few are now standing holding on to the rails. At the 3rd right 2 more board. The bus travels for 2 miles and all but the last two passengers disembark.
How old is the bus driver?

Well, if I'm driving the bus I'm fast approaching retirement age ...

Step, Step, Step. Don't you know you should never ask a woman her age? But the bus driver is 52.
Here's a pretty easy one. Two cops walked into a room with no windows and found a dead man who obviously hung himself from the ceiling, though they couldn't figure out how. There was no chair beneath him that he might have jumped off, of, or a table. Just a puddle of water. How did he hang himself?

A farmer has a fox, goose, a bag of grain, and one boat to cross a stream that is only big enough to take one of the three across with him at a time. If left alone together, the fox would eat the goose and the goose would eat the grain. How can the farmer get all three across the stream? (Not overly challenging, but still fun.)

Goose -> <- Fox -> <- Goose Grain -> <- Goose ->

Ah, you logical types, always coming up with some sort of mathematical solution...
Common sense says you don't go walking around with a loose goose; and what's the fox gonna do...follow along politely? Not to mention, if left alone while you're ferrying one or the other across the stream, the one left behind is most likely not going to wait around for you to get back. Only dogs "Stay". Sometimes.
Tether the goose, and cage the fox before you even step foot off the farm, (caged foxes can't eat tethered geese). Put the caged fox in the boat, and sit on the bag of grain (the boat may be limited in size, but there's no mention of a weight limit, and I'm small anyway). Tie the goose to the boat and let it swim behind; they are water birds, you know - they don't even need life jackets.
Ta-da. One trip. Might not be the right answer to the riddle, but I'd be a whole lot less tired than I would if I had to make seven trips across a danged stream.

It might not be the "right" answer but it makes a lot more sense.

LOL! Nicely obfusticated Phalon. But logic wins out.
These can be a little more challenging.
What letter comes next in the series?
1) TWTFS---
2) IVXLC---
3) OTTFFSS---
4) ASDFG---
5) JFMAMJJ---
6) WLCNIT---

1. TWTFS = S for Sunday
2. IVXLC = D because it's Roman Numerals
3. OTTFFSS = E for Eight
4. ASDFG = H - look at your keyboard's middle row
5. JFMAMJJ = A for August
6. ZXYWXVW = U - down 2 letters then up 1
7. WLCNIT = S - the first letter of the question -What Letter Comes Next In The Series
I think a couple of these are correct. God knows I played with it long enough.

Thanks Stepper! Here's an odd one: You (a person) can spin, wheel and twist, but it can turn without moving. What is it?

... it can turn without moving. ... Milk. No, I don't want to answer in the forum. Let someone else see if they can find the answer too.

I was thinking this was seasonal and the answer was a leaf - but now that I've seen Spock's answer, I believe he's right. You could make an argument for time too.

Who violated the sanctity of my PM by sharing it with the world!? If I had wanted to show off, I could have made the post myself. Guess I won't be playing any of these in the background any more.

Bravo! But, ah, Spock, those PMs will get you every time. You should have posted a riddle…but since I have extra, I’ll toss another one out.
The one who makes it sells it. The one who buys it doesn't use it. The one who's using it doesn't know he's using it. What is it?

A man walks into a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bartender takes out a shotgun and shoots, just missing the man.
The man pays for the glass of water, says thank you, and leaves. Why the thank you?
