You two are too funny. Glad to see you are both visiting more often again.
I'd love to have someone come work in my garden. It's been pretty neglected most of the summer. Working outside all day; too hot, and darn it, the last thing I want to do when I get home is work in the yard.
A lady walking her dog the other day stopped in front of the house while I was sitting on the porch drinking coffee and said the garden and house looks so pretty, and whoever did the plantings did wonderful work. It was kind of embarrassing because everything needs trimming or deadheading - a mess really. I think she probably needs glasses.
Rain last night. Whoo-hoo, we needed it. And today....today the high temperature is supposed to be in the seventies!!!!! It's going to feel like heaven outside.
Coffee is on. Enjoy.

Glad to see, that we could cheer you up a little bit... I've no garden, but I've my vitus and my herbs on my balcon... I love heat when I work, the last week it was almost raining every day and night here and it was so cold, that we weared sweat shirts and jackets again. I hate coldness and rain at work!!! Thanks for the coffee! Yumm.... Of course it will be tea with you, tuffy. But I don't like tea that much - so you can drink it alone...

Hi Phalon,I am sure your garden is not as bad as you make it sound. It sounds all very idyllic, with you sitting on your porch drinking coffee.Today we have had some rain ,for the first time in a long while. Well Eirene,if you hate tea so much, will I take the chance and offer you a coffee??

Nobody told me Cyrenes's had changed locations-or maybe I was gone so long, I forgot where it was... What's up with your hand Marysgurl? Did you break it ?

It was in Off Topics at ezWhoosh... but since Cyrene is Xena's mom, the tavern really belonged on the Xena board. Z's is in Off Topics, it's the wild and crazy tavern.

Bar stool's a little dusty, Xenamoured, but it's been here waiting all along. Glad you've finally found it.
Promising to be a beautiful weekend - a break from that relentless heat. Yay.
Gotta run and get ready for work.
Later all. Enjoy the day.

Hi Joxie, Scrappy Whoa...M-Gurl....that sounds really painfull...I guess you're lucky it wasn't any worse...no more horseplay in the house! Hi Phalon....thanks for saving my seat all year...I'll see if my coffee-making skills are still intact. The weather here has been great. I watch CNN all the time, so I can see how bad the heat is down there. In St. John, the weather is beautiful- all summer its between 20-30 C. -never any hotter. Of course, this is the fog capital of the continent. Usually we have fog half the days of the month...but I'll take that over the wretched humidity of Toronto any day.... This morning I repaired the exhaust system on "Inga"(she's my Volvo) for the third time...last repair lasted a year or so...off to mow the lawn and whack those weeds..... ;

I am so LMAO at this, Xenamoured. I planted an autumn flowering clematis against the fence in the backyard last year, and Hubs has repeatedly cut it down with the weed-eater this year, thinking it was a weed. Hard to kill, and it kept sprouting back; struggling against the odds of being cut down again. Finally, I put a little red flag at the base of it, so he'd know it was something I purposefully planted. It is looking good - now about three feet tall, and would probably bloom in a month or so; hundreds of tiny white flowers covering the vine.
Except....
...not more than 10 minutes ago, Hubs, who has been working outside, weeding and such, sticks his head inside the door, and yells "Phalon, come quick!" Thinking he'd injured himself, (again), I run to the door. "Uhm....please tell me this is not that climbitis thing", he says holding up my three foot poor plant - roots and all. "Yes, Dear, that would be the clematis, and what is it doing in your hand inside the house." "Well, uhm...it just looked like a vine climbing the fence." "That is what a clematis is, Dear; a vine."
Sigh.
He is out there replanting it now.
So, Xenamoured, watch what you're whacking. That didn't quite sound right, did it? And be careful what you pull.
Yeah...uhm...I will go now.

Phalon...I think your story only goes to show that a man should always enlist the help of his wife when he needs to whack or pull anything....or something like that...maybe that didn't come out right either....

Grrrr....
Still a tiny sliver of moon in the sky; pretty, but I wish I was not seeing it right now, and was still asleep.
The cats woke me up; doing that tear through the house like wild banshees, use me for a springboard, pounce on my head it's-time-to-get-up thing. Like they don't know it's my morning to sleep in. Grrr, again.
Wide awake and unable to get back to sleep, tossing and turning and not wanting to wake Hubs. Too early to make the coffee, (I still want to get back to sleep), too quiet to vacuum, and still too dark to go roller-skiing.
Sigh - sometimes, I wish I lived in a pet-less house.
Eirene, enjoy your time off!

Hey Eirene - watch out for all those crazy drivers who feel like they must drive on the wrong side of the road over there. I've a feeling you'll be encountering quite a lot of them.
Have a safe trip, and enjoy yourselves.
