Hey Eirene - watch out for all those crazy drivers who feel like they must drive on the wrong side of the road over there. I've a feeling you'll be encountering quite a lot of them. What do you mean, "wrong side of the road", they drive on the correct side, like all normal people. ;D Hope the two of you have a great time [ i'm positive you will ] Xengab, do you plan on introducing Eirene to the joys and mysteries of the great game of Cricket while she's there?

Hey,Marysgurl, you are absolutely right, fridge, freezer and pantry are bursting with goodies, including choc chip cookies.I have some nice trips planned for Rina and other wonderful things. ;D Love to you and ILB. HI katina2nd. You are right, I don't see the problem with driving on the left,it's the normal thing to do. However,we shall pick Eirene up from the ferry,so she can follow us home.Sorry katina2nd,Cricket is not my thing, which of course is not normal.

Hi MG! You have no idea how much fun we have! And it isn't that worse to drive on the wrong side... as long as I don't drive in a city...... was only a joke. What's up with your hand? is it a little bit better by now?? Anyway, it's great to be here and I think I'll like this land of the natural born ghost drivers... Greetings from Xengab too... oh Phalon thanks for your coffee.

Yep it's my first trip to england, and I like it a lot. It's a nice country, really. And the british people aren't that crazy as everbody says in Germany... maybe the reason is my german car... when we drive through the town. I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest of my holidays here, Xengab will make it sure that it comes that way!!! Greetings from her too, have a nice time with your girl ILB!

Xengab channeling Eirene....that's what seeing Eirene's words with Xengab's name reminds me of.
Glad you two are having such a good time. Sounds like a wonderful vacation, Eirene....but tea instead of coffee? Oh, the horror. I guess though, that any vacation is not without its pitfalls.
Just kidding, you know. When in Rome....
Enjoy the rest of your time together, and don't forget to send postcards!
Gotta run. Lots to do.....and I've got the whole weekend off to do it. Two days in a row!!!! Can't remember when that last happened, (when I was not caring for an ill child).
Later all.

Hi Marysgurl.Well,I was born in Germany and so I am used to the WRONG side of the road. ;D I think, that I can speak for Eirene also, when I say, that we are both very happy with the way things have turned out.Life has a way of throwing things at you, that you don't expect. Take care.

Hello! As Xengab told you, I'm back in Germany and you wouldn't believe it when I say that as I drove down from the ferry, I got the feeling to drive on the wrong side... I was a little bit confused about driving again on the right side and not anymore on the left. Xengab you make me with your describtion of me. We had a wonderful time together with a lot of fun. It's Xena's fault that I miss her now a lot... and it's so a long time till december... *sniff*

Hello, hello. Happy Monday; the start of the work week - where I should be, but just hanging now waiting for the doctor's office to open so I can get LX in for a minor thing.
Glad, Eirene and Xengab, that the vacation was wonderful for you both. And yes, MG is right: A bite by bite replay of Xengab's cooking is in order....not that whatever is described is something I might try making in my own kitchen, but it's always interesting to hear how the other half lives: the culinary-skilled half.

Hi MG & Phalon! Yep, Xengab is a wonderful person AND cook. I tried fish & chips, sausage rolls, english toast, scons with cream and jam and very brave TEA with milk and sugar ( have I something forgotten my dear? ) !!! But I must admitt two cups in 10 days were enough.

this yorkshire pudding was homemade?? i love pudding....my grandmother's tapioca being my favorite...is yorkshire pudding traditional dessert food or more like the main course??
mary &i are really happy that the two of you had such a grand time & are wondering if the "things that life throws at you" that you speak of.....these are good things, right??
exactly how far apart are you two in miles??
am i being too nosy??

Oh yes, sorry the Yorkshire pudding and the porrige... You're so right, my dear! Yes Phalon a extry strong coffee would be a wonderful idea. MG, Yorkshire pudding is more like cake, as the pudding we know. Here in Germany you would get things with the same taste called "Spritzkuchen". And I would say it's a traditional dessert for the british ones. Main course is something like Lamb with mint souce, chips and - if you're lucky - peas. But I wasn't THAT brave to try it out... How far apart in miles? I know I drove over 370 KM to get to the ferry in IJMUIDEN/ AMSTERDAM (Netherland) , from the ferry (Newcastle) to Maggie's house 20KM, between that is a lot of water!! So let me guess maybe 1600KM apart us, could be more I think. 'cause I don't know the exact route I sailed with the ferry. In miles is that 1000 - I believe.

you are exactly right, eirene....quite a long trip but perhaps a journey that will change yor lives forever! good eating on the yorkshire! what is the flavor...fruity or other?? i would definitely have to pass on the lamb also, not being much of a meat-eater & especially not lamb! the chips (fried potatoes, right?) i could do & peas are one of my favs! over & out for now....i think it's near your bedtime, so i will say sweet dreams.....
