Every once in a while, cold tea....but never sweet tea.
Bookstore or coffee shop?

IT! cola! It! rocked hardcore. Not to mention all the jokes you could use It! for because of It!'s name. Ick, tea. Bookstore. Me + bookstore = like a kid in a candy store. Hm. Desktop, or laptop?

Post by stepper on Feb 9, 2010 23:59:04 GMT -6
Tea either way suits me, but sweet iced tea with lemon comes first.
Bookstore - there's just too much good reading on them thar shelves.
Desktop - I have both at work and for what ever reason, the desktop suits me better.
Radio or TV for background noise?

Step, you confused this for the True or False thread.

Step, you confused this for the True or False thread. AAAHHH! <runs back to the previous post and uses the magic pixel fixer.> What? Who? Me? Thanks Gabrielle. I’ve been putting in too many hours and then posting here late – and it’s starting to catch up to me.

tv for background noise. normally leave mine on all night.
peanut butter, or jelly?
Post by Awesome Aphrodite on Feb 10, 2010 3:50:46 GMT -6
jelly. ick, peanut butter.
OK, say there's NO mac and cheese. would you rather have: macaroni without cheese, or cheese without macaroni?
Post by Phalon on Feb 10, 2010 7:13:10 GMT -6
Desktop. I bought a laptop but never got used to the keyboard; the girls have since commandeered it, which is great because now they stay off MY computer.
Radio or TV? T.V. - if the radio is on, I usually end up singing along and get distracted with what I'm doing.
Peanut butter or jelly? Love peanut butter; bluck to jelly.
Macaroni without cheese, or cheese without macaroni?
Definitely cheese! I love cheese!
Type A personality, or Type B?
Post by stepper on Feb 10, 2010 22:53:09 GMT -6
BP&J! Yum!
macaroni (but I'd put butter on it)
Personality. I'm a maybe - maybe I have one. I'm probably an AB - emphasis on the A.
Chunky peanut butter or smooth?
Post by EllieNeo on Feb 11, 2010 5:33:22 GMT -6
i have actually been classified as AB personality type. i've also been told that that's rare.
if i had to choose, i'd choose smooth peanut butter. i don't like peanuts.
nocturnal, or diurnal?
Post by stepper on Feb 11, 2010 23:26:29 GMT -6
OOO. Good word not seen very often!
By nature, nocturnal. But not having a choice because of work means I'm a day person. Long weekends and vacations really mess me up. By the 4th day I'm staying up most of the night and sleeping through the morning.
You'd rather sleep 4 or 8 hours?
Post by Gabrielle On Nutbread on Feb 13, 2010 3:41:32 GMT -6
, leave it to Ellie to use an obscure word like "diurnal." I swear she does stuff like that just to show off how smart she is. *AHEM* I'd rather sleep 8, but I've been having a bit of trouble doing that lately. Think I'm catching a cold or something. Curtains on your windows, or blinds?
Post by stepper on Feb 15, 2010 0:36:41 GMT -6
Curtains. I think they look better, and here you get insulated curtains to help keep out the heat.
Collage or individual pictures of family?

Post by EllieNeo on Feb 15, 2010 5:49:55 GMT -6
individual pics of family. got em all over the place.
cat person, or dog person?
Post by stepper on Feb 15, 2010 20:56:39 GMT -6
Cat person. I had dogs when I was younger, but after we were married we got a great dog and I was way too attached to her. She had several cancerous lumps and we spent a small fortune on her. Even took her to A&M for their Vet teaching hospital when the local vets wouldn't or couldn't do any more for her. After she died, I just wasn't going to let that situation reoccur so no more dogs.
Natural or perm?
Post by Gabrielle On Nutbread on Feb 15, 2010 21:03:35 GMT -6
Natural. My hair is curly anyway, and isn't that what people get perms for? It's hard to tell that it's curly, because I keep it short, but I know it is because I have had it long before. Plus, Ellie always keeps hers long, and hers is curly, and since we're identical... Olympics, which do you like more: Snowboarding, or skiing?

Skiing, simply because I've never seen the Olympic snowboarding.
Horseback riding or bike riding?
Post by EllieNeo on Feb 16, 2010 18:37:15 GMT -6
horseback riding. haven't done it since orion died though. and can't afford to buy and board another horse.
think we've probably done this one already... but... mittens, or gloves?
Post by Phalon on Feb 17, 2010 7:23:27 GMT -6
I prefer mittens because my fingers party together, and their mingling keeps them warm. Alway gloves for work though.
Off the beaten track vacation: Would you rather be lighthouse keepers for a week (we've actually contemplated doing this), or stay at a dude ranch?
Post by EllieNeo on Feb 17, 2010 7:28:15 GMT -6
dude ranch. that just sounds like too much fun. plus, lighthouses are high, and i'm acrophobic.
do your own hair, or have someone else do it for you?
Post by Phalon on Feb 18, 2010 6:50:01 GMT -6
Oh, I love when the girls to do my hair - I'd love it more if they just brushed it without "doing" it; there's been times I've forgotten they "did" it, and answered the door, or ran to the store with umpteen clips stuck in it, or multiple ponytails sticking out every which way.
Which scents do you prefer - the smell of something good cooking, or the smell of something pleasing outdoors (a rose, pine needles, fresh-cut grass, etc)?

Post by Gabrielle On Nutbread on Feb 18, 2010 7:39:38 GMT -6
Something cooking... but only since I've been here. Ellie is an excellent cook, but I can barely make boxed Mac N Cheese! After you've showered, do you pull the shower curtain towards the faucet, or away from it?

Post by EllieNeo on Feb 19, 2010 0:54:08 GMT -6
wow, gabs, could you get any more random? away from it.
plain white walls in your house, or colored?
Post by Phalon on Feb 22, 2010 7:36:26 GMT -6
Colored walls; white feels stark and cold to me. Most of our house is an ugly drab off-white color, and I hate it. As we renovate room by room, my biggest thrill is adding color. Hopefully our bedroom will be done this year; my plans are for a shade of orange walls. Now only if can convince Hubs that tangerine dreams are not nightmares or multiple 70's electronic bands in bedroom surround sound.
Dry humor or slap-stick comedies?
Post by Gabrielle On Nutbread on Feb 27, 2010 12:31:42 GMT -6
Hmmm. Depends on what mood I'm in, really. Sometimes I absolutely cannot STAND slap-stick, but other times, it's the only thing that can make me laugh.
Jeans, or khakis?
Post by stepper on Mar 7, 2010 1:18:43 GMT -6
I love longer hair - but prefer straight - a carry over from when I was young and who and what influenced me.
Snowboarding looks like it'd be much more fun.
Horse back riding - unless by "bike" you meant motorcycle in which case the motorcycle wins. Although, a horse drawn sleigh through the woods would be great!
Gloves for me. They're more functional. When I tried mittens many years ago I had too much trouble keeping them on. The slightest pull and the darned things would come off.
Lighthouse or ranch? I think the lighthouse. I'd like the solitude and it'd be a once-in-a-life opportunity since lighthouses are almost all on autopilot.
Okay - my answer here doesn't count. I've NEVER done my own hair. I don't even understand the concept of doing your hair.
Scents - something cooking. Bread, bacon, something with cinnamon, or turkey for Thanksgiving or Christmas are all more evocative for me. Outdoors I like the smell of approaching rain storms - camp fires - and BBQ grills but that's back to cooking.
Shower curtain towards the faucet because the rack with towels is at the back.
White walls - the rooms seem brighter that way. The walls were painted different colors when I was younger and that was the norm for the time, but now that I own my home I prefer white.
Dry humor I guess. I prefer the quick whit over physical antics, but both have their place. I love Jeff Dunham's "Walter" beginning with the expression, and the movements he gives his characters makes the funnier.
Jeans. No wardrobe is complete without a "good" pair of jeans - the ones that you wash in hot water only once so they're still dark blue but won't bleed on you any more. For everything else - regular jeans.
Tops should be loose or more form fitting.

Loose shirts. I can't stand tight shirts, because they make me feel like I can hardly breathe. Personally, I'd rather be comfortable than be a slave to fashion trends.
If you needed one or the other, would you rather wear glasses, or contact lenses?
Post by jonjon3168 on Mar 13, 2010 10:44:12 GMT -6
i have to wear corrective eyewear, and i prefer my contacts to my glasses, because they look better.
ok... hm.
do you sleep on the right side of the bed, or the left?
Post by Mini Mia on Mar 13, 2010 19:29:35 GMT -6
Middle. Leaving one side of the bed unused is just ... wasteful.
grits or oats?
Post by Gabrielle On Nutbread on Mar 13, 2010 20:18:55 GMT -6
LOVED your answer to the bed one, Jox! That's me, too, but I typically lay down on the right side and end up rolling over and taking up the whole bed. When I shared the bed, I slept on the right side. Grits or oats... Ew, neither. Unless I'm like, starving. Larry Bird, or Micheal Jordan?
