They say patience is it's own reward and this proves it I guess, two and a half years for the answer. And right you are Step' it is indeed Steve McQueen as bounty hunter Josh Randall from WDOA, one of my favourite westerns from back in the prehistoric age.

I'm a doctor on an award winning series, and my second well liked TV series. My show addressed impotence, depression, brain damage, breast cancer, mononucleosis, sexually transmitted diseases, epilepsy, leukemia, rape, Alzheimer's Disease and addiction to painkillers. One of my shows was the first where network affiliates refused to air a show in response to protests. I was the older doctor, my younger partner rode a motorcycle in the opening credits, and married one of the stars of What's Up Doc. Who am I?

Are you Marcus Welby? If so, the younger doctor....was it Dr. Kiley?...was played by James Brolin, who's married to Barbra Streisand, who I *loved* in "What's Up, Doc?". Great movie.

Way to go Siren! You are two for two! And I thought Welby would slow people down a bit.

I remember watching that on tv in my preschool days. Other favorites were "The Galloping Gourmet", Julia Child's "The French Chef", "Bewitched", and "Dark Shadows". I was an odd kid.
Hmmmm...let's see...
I'm the sad-sack old veteran in a precinct full of younger detectives in New York's 12th Precinct. My boss (the star of the show) is an amiable fellow with a mustache. Co-workers include an intellectual who wears glasses and spouts obscure facts, a sharp-dressed black man who's a writer on the side, a big, nice, but slightly dim fellow with a Polish name I can't spell, and an Asian who makes terrible coffee.

The terrible coffee clued me in. It Phalon! No, wait, it has to have been on TV and Phalon's coffee goes straight from the pot to the cup to the porch. Barney Miller would never have been the same without Abe Vigoda's "Fish" huh!

Hee hee! Watch out for flying coffee pots, Step!
You got it. Well done! Good old Fish.

The widow of a wealthy Californian, I'm now the matriarch of our property. (My refusal to portray the main character as fragile was controversial at the time.) The person playing my seldom mentioned or seen fourth son was, IRL, drafted and went to Viet Nam. I also have a daughter. The Six Million Dollar Man portrayed the illegitimate son of my deceased husband; I treated him as one of my own. Who am I?

The "drafted and went to Viet Nam" threw me for a while until the penny dropped and I realised what IRL meant. You would be Victoria Barkley [ Barbara Stanwyck ] from The Big Valley unless I'm very much mistaken?

Not mistaken at all Kat.

LOL! I'm not much of a challenge Kat. You narrowed in on that one like a dart seeking a bulls eye. This one was a bit easier then the one in the film catagory, still having headaches over that. Okay this should be easy ...... I'm kinda like the male counterpart to Victoria Barkley, the patriarch of a sprawling property that I run with the help, and sometimes hinderance, of my three sons.

Yep, sure am.
Sheese miss those westerns, wouldn't mind seeing a few new ones now instead of the endless cycle of cop shows.

I am the love interest in a show that depicts the social and family life of a particular character in a typical American suburb. The main characters including myself are youngsters growing up. Considered a comedy, the show won an Emmy and a Peabody for its unique portrayal of circumstances. We dealt with many things. The first kiss, death of a family member in Viet Nam, I am almost killed in a vehicle accident, the dad of the show is a defense contractor who runs into financial problems, and of course the inevitable break ups and reconciliations. Considered one of TV's Most Unforgettable Finales, the last show wrapped up the loose threads and to the surprise and chagrin of many, we find out the dad dies soon, and the main character and I end up going our separate ways.

Kat hasn't signed on since I put this up Siren. I'll give him a day or two before adding clues. (And I'm sure you'll remember this one.)

Winnie Cooper ~ The Wonder Years I used to get teased because several of my friends thought Fred Savage & I looked alike. Someone can take my turn.

I was a garage mechanic. Had some buddies who were cousins who had a lot of problems with the local corrupt law and politicians.

When I was in Turkey, we got word that the USO was making a special side trip just for us. One quick show and they were leaving for Germany and then the states - home for Christmas. The main attraction - the person who filled a hanger with nearly an entire base's personnel, was Catherine Bach and her Dukes of Hazard Daisy Mae Duke character. How popular was she? Her short shorts are still called Daisy Dukes. That's my best guess.

I think you're on the right track, Step. But I think VJ is Cooter, and not Daisy.
So, was Catherine wearing her Daisy Dukes?

Oh man! As soon as I read your post I was thinking I needed a self induced head slap. You're right - I had forgotten that Daisy worked as a waitress - even had to look it up!
And yes she did - which was quite brave of her because it was a tad on the chill side.

Yep, Siren, it was Cooter, from the Dukes
Love the show,so much good clean fun. And I went to a Dukes festival in Virginia couple weekends ago, hosted by Cooter in the rural community where he now lives.Mainly for the good music- they had Ralph Stanley who has been playing mountain style bluegrass music since 1946(He got a Grammy for a song on Oh Brother Where Art Thou?) . He's a true legend in the folk and country music world.
